Cowards of our day: Those who live in Intentional Ignorance

O.K. here we go....

I watched this today:

And then I saw this comment:

So this is how it’s done? This is hard to even respond to. The libs are right. When the population gets….. I’m sorry, I can’t even respond to this. This level of diabolical, and yes, intentional ignorance is impossible for me to wrap my head around.

I was struct by the term INTENTIONAL IGNORANCE. What exactly is this? A medical disease? A failure of our school systems? A national suicide pact?
After thinking about it for awhile I would have to conclude that we are a nation of cowards. It is so much easier to turn off and tune out than to challenge those who have told us our whole lives that because of our skin color, economic situation, or family background, we have to think a certain way. My grandpa voted for a Democrat so I must keep doing it even though the Democrats have time and time again used their mandates/power to look out for themselves and hurt those who they tricked and lied to into giving them that power.
But keep doing what you are doing. If you don't know, you can't care or have that uncomfortable conversation with yourself that you are part of the problem. Keep ignorant about what is happening around you, just as long as your belly is full and your EBT card is magically replenished every month. If it is not, is that G.W. Bush's fault too?  Getting your news from a comedy show, just so you can laugh instead of cry. Get that free Obamacare, as long as it does not affect your pocket book. Save the world, as long as it doesn't affect you and yours.
It is time for good men to become better and better men to know better. Go out and meet your leaders, look them in the eye, work hard to support good men and women, and look for truth.

Watching the "Mitt the Man" Glenn Beck show today. I will share what happened as it goes along: Glenn starts with what we have heard from the media. The dog story, the rich guy... He wanted Mitt last time because of finances, this time he was Glenn's third pick. Mitt has not been to Glenn's show for years and he is not here to do his bidding but Glenn says he will tell the truth...

We have heard lies over and over again even through the lie of omission which lie the MSM is guilty of today. The story of Romney is amazing. Obama talks of being his brother's keeper, but leaves his brother in a hut. Mitt doesn't just dig into his big pockets, he helps people in all his ways.

Then Glenn runs down all attacks against Mitt, does not support the troops, no foreign policy, no concern for minorities, keeps his money overseas, thinks corporations are people, tax cuts for the wealthy, won't reveal tax returns, and outsource jobs. Let's try out nonfiction, Mitt doesn't like to toot his own horn. Here are some stories the MSM just must have missed.

In the mid 1990's, Mitt closed up shop and headed down to New York to look for an employee's lost daughter. He flew 50 people down to New York to look for her. He set up a command center and printed up flyers to help find her. They found her in a situation, in the basement of a teenage boy who was hiding her from his parents and she was high on Ecstasy, that could have been really ugly if they had not found her right when they did.

Compared to George Obama who needed help from someone and turned to Dinesh D'Sousza to help him. He felt he could not ask his brother.

There are many, many stories: The Nixon family had four of their six children in a terrible car accident. Coming home from a Church activity, they were in a total roll over car accident. Both sons were paralyzed and all kids were in three different hospitals. They knew of Mitt but were not friends. He had been their Stake President, but was no longer, the boys had been in rehab late into the fall and were coming home. Christmas was approaching and it had been a fun time for the family in the past but this Christmas they had nothing to give. Mitt called them out of the blue and asked if he could come over to their home and visit with the boys. The Romneys, Mitt, Ann, and their three youngest boys, came over on Christmas Eve with arms full gifts and presents. It was a surprise to the boys and they were in total shock. They stayed with them and opened the presents with them. One of the boys received a boombox and was elated. Mitt continued to help out with fundraising for this family and one day Mitt pulled their dad over and he said he would pay for their whole college education. What were the Romney's doing on Christmas eve? Instead of skiing, instead of vacationing, they were serving others.

Bryce Clark, Mitt was his Stake President. Bryce was an alcoholic and doing drugs. His dad was a big guy in the LDS Church, he runs BYU Idaho. At 19 it was expected of him to go on a mission but he knew he was not worthy and no one else knew. He lied in his interview and later realized he had made a big mistake and set up an appointment to meet with Mitt. He went over to his house and felt like he was in for a dressing down and to be told he was a loser but that is not what happened. He took him into his den and said, I know what you are going to say, let's not talk about that. I want you to know, you are not alone, I will be here for you and you are not the only one who struggles. You are not measured by the good on this side and the bad on that side, we are measured by, "Are we trying to improve?". You being here tonight qualifies you as being a Saint (what a member of our church call ourselves)." Mitt always made him feel better and included. He wrote him letters over the years and was there when he blessed his first child.

When Mitt was campaigning for Senate, he visited a center for Veterans with 500 homeless vets. While there he asked if he could look through the books. He did so for 30 minutes. Then as he was leaving, he asked what they needed. The man who ran it said milk. Mitt quipped, "Well maybe they need to learn how to milk a cow." Well that took off and the MSM ran with it. Mitt later called to apologize for any embarrassment he may have caused and told him he would try and make it right. Then every week the center would receive shipments of milk with the bill paid. The milk man would not tell him who paid it. This went on for months and then years. Finally the milk guy was going to retire and on his last day they convinced him to tell them who it was and it was Romney. He wrote him a thank you note and let him know how he effected 10,000's of vets who were struggling. Then a few years later when Mitt became Governor, he met with him to review their needs and Mitt gave him exactly what they needed because he remembered looking at the books.

Mitt will be the mechanic who will fix this country... Reed Fisher, had a fire go through his neighborhood in the California fires. Matt contacted him and asked if he could help do something for him. He said there is nothing much left but we did have a pine tree stump that needed to be removed. So he told them to come over to help remove that pine tree. Reed went out to get some food for the guys and came back to a black Suburban and among those helping out, was a candidate for the President of the United States, Mitt Romney. Mitt had just jumped into the car as Matt was leaving. I saw that this was a father who could help with his son. He had asked him if he would like some breakfast, Mitt replied, "Maybe later, gotta get this stump out..." Matt expressed to him that he enjoyed the chance to help out because this is something we as boys don't get to do much with dad anymore (kind of the like the other side of the coin that Mitt described at the Convention...just one more chance to work with your dad and be his son.) Glenn wraps it up by saying, If Mitt can do that, I can do better.

Will the Three Branches of the Governemnt Disappear?

Yes I still watch Glenn Beck. I can't stand his taste in Presidential Candidates, but he and those who work for him are good sources of information. Yesterday was a good example. I watched Glenn's report on a Gallup poll from 2011 which ranks institutions that people trust: Glenn's article These stats caught my eye: Great deal%/Somewhat%/Very Little%... The U.S. Supreme Court 37/41/20...The Presidency 35/ 28/36...Congress 12/40/48 This poll was taken in June 2011. Think about what has happened the past nine months since then. What do you think the numbers would be today? What is going to happen when the Supreme Court overturns bad law in the Healthcare bill? Congress is now a laughing stock because they have not passed a budget, their whole reason for existing, since April 2009. When was the last time they declared a war before we sent troops via the White House? Who is really jazzed by the constant nit picky details about the President? Remember when we went weeks without hearing about George W. Bush and we were fine with that. My conclusion yesterday was that we are being set up to hate our three branches of government to do what? Replace them.

Peter Geithner

I mentioned last night at a meeting that Tim Geithner's dad was Ann's (President Obama's mom) boss our in Indonesia. Here are a few sources:

Tim Geithner Wikipedia entry--

Family and education
Geithner was born in Brooklyn, New York City and spent most of his childhood outside the United States, including present-day Zimbabwe, Zambia, India and Thailand where he completed high school at the International School Bangkok.[2] He attended Dartmouth College, graduating with an A.B. in government and Asian studies in 1983.[3] In the process he studied Mandarin at Peking University in 1981 and at Beijing Normal University in 1982.[4] He earned an M.A. in international economics and East Asian studies from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in 1985.[3][5] He has studied Chinese[3] and Japanese.[6]
Geithner's paternal grandfather, Paul Herman Geithner (1902–1972), emigrated with his parents from the German town of Zeulenroda-Triebes to Philadelphia in 1908.[7] His father, Peter F. Geithner, was the director of the Asia program at the Ford Foundation in New York in the 1990s. During the early 1980s, Peter Geithner oversaw the Ford Foundation's microfinance programs in Indonesia being developed by Ann Dunham, President Barack Obama's mother, and they met in person at least once.[8] Timothy Geithner's mother, Deborah Moore Geithner, is a pianist and piano teacher in Larchmont, New York where his parents currently reside. Geithner's maternal grandfather, Charles F. Moore, was an adviser to President Dwight D. Eisenhower and served as Vice President of Public Relations from 1952-1964 for Ford Motor Company.[9]

Death of Liberalism: 12 Myths Debunked in 2009

Myth #1: An African-American President will right all past wrongs.
Myth #2: Zero Population/Environmentalism/Ozone Hole/Global Warming/Climate Change are all man-made crises.
Myth #3: Throwing Money at a problem fixes it.
Myth #4: Threats by Muslims are not to be taken seriously, Americans are the ones who have caused their anger.
Myth #5: Unions like SEIU and other organizations like ACORN are out to help the little guy.
Myth #6: Women need to be saved.
Myth #7: The world will love us once we have a global president.
Myth #8: The Stimulus will give us jobs.
Myth #9: There is still a need for social justice.
Myth #10: If a company is too big to fail, we must put a safety net out to catch them.
Myth #11: Healthcare can be available to all and be free.
Myth #12: Compromising with Liberals will help us gain something, which is better than nothing.

I will not link to what debunked these myths but I will say that President Barack Obama has done more in the last year than Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Sr. and Jr., Dick Cheney, Dan Quayle, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Ross Perot, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh combined in the last 30 years to convince Americans that Liberalism is a flawed and dangerous view of the world.

Jumping the Shark

It happened when to Fonzie when he literally "jumped the shark". Jon and Kate did it when they announced their divorce on tv the day they filed the papers. When Cousin Oliver showed up at the Brady household, they too had jumped the shark.

Yesterday, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee did it when they announced that President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. Some say that it was due to the fact that they wanted to pressure the Obama administration into passing Cap-and-Trade. If that were true they could have saved the planet and asked him to come over and pick up the award while he was in the neighborhood last week instead of sending him out there again, burning up more fuel than the prize is worth. Some say that he brought peace to the world through his ideas. Then why has Chicago with over twenty years of Obama's presence continue to fail to be a place where "grass not glass" exists.

The weakest argument here is the one that says, "Those who oppose this nod are just unamerican." They also said that about hoping Chicago did not get the 2016 Olympics and wishing for Obama's failure. Let's set the record straight. It is exactly American. To call a spade a spade has been American from the very beginning. Think of any great American from any part of the political, religious, or intellectual spectrum and decide if they were great because they compromised what they believed or that they stood firm in their beliefs and were immovable.

Everyone who feels that Obama deserved this award has yet to point to one concrete action, if not idea that has led to action, that justifies it. Yet to those who disagree with this award, we should just say, "Whatever" (the most annoying word to Americans according to a recent survey) and move on to more pressing matters like being vigilant in watching what the other hand is doing.
